Auki market budget consultation meeting hosted

A budget consultation meeting was organised yesterday at Rarasu leaf hut by Auki market management for the Auki market venders.
Auki market manager Ms Betty Kwanairara said, “the aim of this meeting is to discuss the budget with the Auki market venders and to give them opportunities and chance to contribute what is much needed for the market especially budget allocations from the Malaita provincial government for the running of the market.
“The management wish to show the vendors that lots of improvements need to be done especially in the infrastructural side.”
Ms Kwanairara also added that they want to clarify the budget last year’s 2016 and 2017 and how the management has spent its funds and to talk about its income.

“We want to share it today on behalf of the market management and the malaita provincial government.
“After this consultation meeting today we will submit our budget to the MPG under the planning division for approval.”
The meeting includes Auki market vendors’ association committee, representative from the UN Women and staffs and officers from the Auki market management.
Speaking on behalf UN Women, Ms Kristie revealed that UN Women are ready to support the Auki market venders in improving the market facilities.
“The UN women pledge to assist in infrastructure developments of the Auki market.”
Ms Kristie adds “I already have a consultant meeting with the malaita provincial government (MPG) but their response is not well confirmed through assisting the market through allocations to support the market with its basic needs.
“Basicly UN women want to support the Auki market and the Malaita provincial government through developing the Auki market,” Ms Kristie said.
