A concerned man from Auki, Malaita province calls on the government to encourage people in Aoke/ Langa Langa constituency to engage in two sectors, particularly, shipping and shell money making.

He said that since people from that constituency pose the potential, skills and expertise in the shipping sector as well as shell money crafting, the government needs to allocate more funds through their respective Member of Parliament to assist them in these areas.

The man also mentioned that the country needs good ships for our people to manage and not the type of ships that are not sea worthy.

He said that there was a time a ship was bought only to be wrecked in Fiji while making it’s way to our shores.

In addition, the Malaitan stated that such a deal only wasted the country’s money.

He added that the people from Langa Langa are also skillful in shell money making and this specialty should be emphasized and assisted by the government.

The concerned man strongly calls on the government to consider these two sectors for the people of Aoke/ Langa Langa.

“Government needs to assist them in those sectors”, he said.
