WESTERN province’s member for ward 16, Hon Ramrakha Talasasa Jnr acknowledges the province’s government for tabling its draft budget estimate for 2017 and 2018.

Member for ward 16 Hon Ramrakha Aquila junior Talasasa has acknowledge the Alliance for Rural Reform Development (ARRD) government to tabling the draft budget estimate for 2017 and 2018 in Western Province.

Speaking during the debate on the draft budget estimate for 2017 and 2018 yesterday, he thanked the Minister of Finance Hon Lester Huckle Saomasi for tabling this very important document at the Full Assembly meeting.

He also thanked Premier Hon Wayne Maepio and his ministers, technical staffs, provincial treasurer and his hard working staffs and all heads of division, stakeholders of the PPCD, the provincial secretary, deputy provincial secretary and the provincial planning advisor for all their inputs towards the draft estimate 2017 to 2018.

“It is never an easy job trying to factor all the divisional bids into the budget yet it is done after all.”

He explained that preparing a document of such importance requires a whole lot of planning and consultation to ensure the government can maintain basic services and deliver development projects.

Hon Talasasa adds that “even the National government is experiencing its fair share of shortfalls.

“This should be an indication that we can’t rely entirely on the National Government but should prepare ourselves for such unexpected economic setbacks.”
