THE Republic of China (Taiwan) is preparing to sign a new route with Solomon Island’s Aviation and Port Authority.

Taiwan Ambassador to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Roger Luo last week said Solomon Islands and Taiwan’s relationship will be put to another level.

HE Luo said they plan to invite the Minister of Aviation, Peter Shanel and Attorney General of the Solomon Islands to visit Taiwan and sign an Air Service Agreement (ASA) in June.

“We plan to invite Minister Shanel and AG to visit Taiwan in the second week of June,” Luo said.

Furthermore, Mr Luo said during his tenure in office as Ambassador to Solomon Islands he will also sign a sister relation between the Solomon Islands Ports Authority with Kaohsiung.

“We will also encourage SIPA to sign a sister relation with Kaohsiung Port, which is the biggest seaport in Taiwan, and one of the biggest seaports in the world,” HE Luo said.

Mr Luo said he is trying to enhance the bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Solomon Islands.

Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare said it appreciated the continuous relationship and kind assistance that Taiwan has extended to the people of this country.

“We would like to continue express our sincere thanks and every time we talk about relationships we will continue to express the kind of assistance you extend to people of this country,” PM Sogavare said.
