THE orientation for new students of the country’s national university last week is described as a fabulous beginning for new intakes.

The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) convened its first-year intake in an orientation on Friday Feb 17, which ended in students having a fair understanding of the University’s regulations and programmes.

Mr Donald Malasa, SINU PVCC, in his speech encourages first year students to make use of their time and opportunity while studying in the University, saying that they should aspire to be someone who can make a difference for Solomon Islands and the world.

“It’s an opportunity and privileges for you students to work hard and do the best effort through in your studies this year— it’s you and me will make are difference.

“Now students you have a big chance of continuing with your learning in education and developing knowledge and skills, it is best that you should work harder to achieve what their goal is,” Mr Malasa said.

He points out to students that opportunities and privileges are given, now it is their time to make use of these chances.

The orientation concluded with students introduced to venues and directed to various classrooms by SINU staffs followed by segments of interaction and information exchange and meeting new lecturers.

The orientation was built on a theme: “Making Difference in Education”.

Semester-one begins this week.
