SIG, GP students at SINU cleared for graduation

SOLOMON Islands National University has announced that students studying under the SIG and Guadalcanal province can now proceed with preparations for this week’s graduation ceremony.

The SINU Management issued a notice allowing SIG and GP sponsored students to proceed with preparations to enable them to participate in the graduation event scheduled for Wednesday 26.

It said the Ministry of Finance and Treasury has already paid fees for students genuinely sponsored under the NTU/SIG, followed by the Guadalcanal Provincial council who have now made arrangement for its graduating students.

“Graduating students who have been sponsored by NTU/SIG and GP Council can now proceed to pay for graduation gowns to enable them to participate in the graduation ceremony set for Wednesday 26,” the SINU Management said.

SINU Management adds that students who did not complete their schools fees will not be permitted to attend the graduation ceremony, and will not be issued certificates and transcripts unless their arrears are settled.

Otherwise, SINU said students who have completed their fees are encouraged to make preparations in advance starting this week as they have only two-days left.

However, from 2018 and onwards SINU Management said the University will start look seriously at only students who have completed their academic studies and paid fees in full to be eligible to graduate.
