RSIPF personnel urged to pursue further study

PATRON of the Police Recruit Course 2016 has urged the 70 newly graduated Police Constables to pursue further studies in their career.
Sir Paul Tovua, speaking during the recent graduation ceremony, said that in order to become professional in work one needs to willingly availing one’s self for study.
“You have to become a good police officer and my advice is that you must never stop learning throughout your career.
“Continue to upgrade your qualification and knowledge as you progress through your career in the Police Force,” he said.
Sir Paul said that when looking at other organisations, the police force is relatively a big organisation by comparison.
“The sheer size of the police force means that your will have a relatively large career path opportunity to progress up the rank.
“But it also means that with many personnel, any progression up the ranks will be very competitive, that’s the challenge you will face.
“I have no doubt that you will be successful police officers in the future if you put your mind and dedication into your career.
“But mark my words that you will become much more and assured successful police officer if you do not stop learning,” he said.
Sir Paul said that “if you do so you will come to the point of earning a law degree, learn the art of mediation, peace building and others”.
He said that “with those qualifications you’ll become a good performing police officer that will hold in high regard in the police force for your integrity and effectiveness”.
