Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) summit set for May
THE Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will be hosting its annual summit this year at Sri Lanka’s Convention Bureau.
Solomon Islands, as a member of PATA, sees this as an opportunity to enhance its tourism sector.
The PATA Annual Summit 2017 is set for May 18—21 with influential tourism experts, innovators and world leaders set to explore future travel and tourism trends.
The Summit’s theme is: ‘Disruption, Innovation, and Transformation: The Future of Tourism.
The event will also feature a half-day UNWTO/PATA Ministerial Debate where industry leaders and government representatives discuss the Shift to Recognised Sustainability Leadership and Sharing Economy in Travel and Tourism.
PATA’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Mario Hardy said they are excited to assemble such an impressive line-up of speakers for the PATA Annual Summit.
He said these speakers represent companies that have been in the forefront of disrupting, innovating and transforming the global travel and tourism industry.
“This is the perfect opportunity for all industry stakeholders to stay abreast of the rapid changes that are taking place in today’s ever evolving landscape.” CEO Hardy said.
Concerning the Summit, PATA already sealed seven speakers and panellist with strong background to share insights and knowledge which Solomon Islands obviously will benefits from hosted by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.
Moreover, the event will explores various topics including ‘Managing Disruption through Innovation, The Transformation of Marketing, Research Innovation, Disrupting the Travel Industry, The Real Future of Tourism: Young Tourism Professionals, and Embracing Disruption—A Blueprint for the Future of Tourism.
