Opposition leader on constituency tour
THE Parliamentary Opposition Leader left Honiara yesterday for Isabel province on a weeklong visit to his people in his constituency.
Speaking to this paper before his team’s departure, Hon Jeremiah Manele said the purpose of his trip is to visit and see the progress of constituency development projects and at the same time discuss with his people the challenges faced in implementing the projects, more especially the housing projects.
He said his team will hold meetings with community leaders, women and youths to get feedbacks so that adjustments can be made in effort to improve the implementation of constituency projects.
Hon Manele further explained that the visit will also provide an opportunity for his people to raise their views and national concerns on legislations recently passed by the Parliament.
This paper understands that Hon Manele looks after the biggest constituency in Isabel province.
His constituency covers Hograno, Katova, Kia and Havelei district – an area which covers almost the whole west to northwest of Isabel province.
