New fire station opens today
THE Fire service within the Royal Solomon Island Police force will today receive a new world class facility from the Participating Police Force.
The building, funded by the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands through the Participating Police Force, will be a boost to the facilities the Fire Service has.
Commissioner Frank Prendergast said the new station is a world class facility and will be a major step-up for the fire service and people of Honiara and its surroundings.
He said details regarding total costs for the new development should be made known today.
