MWYCFA to launch revised policies and action plan today

THE Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs (MWYCFA) will be launching the Women, Peace and Security National Action Plan 2017-2021 (WPSNAP), Revised National Policy on Gender Equality and Women’s Development 2016-2020 (GEWD) and it Revised National Policy on Eliminating Violence Against Women and Girls 2016-2020 (EVAW) today.

This was confirmed to the media yesterday.

According to the official program the official launching will take place at the Coral Sea Resort and Casino at 9am.

An overview of the GEWD, EVAW, WPSNAP & GE: Where do we stand Report will be run through by the Director of Women, Ms Pauline Soaki and opening remarks are expected to be deliver by the Ministry’s Undersecretary Hugo Hebala.

Guest Speakers expected for today’s official launching are the Australian High Commissioner, UN Women representative and the Pacific Community (SPC).

The keynote address will be delivered by the Minister Hon Freda AB Tuki followed by presentations of the launched documents by different institutions.
