THE Okinawa Prefecture Governor and Mayor have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Olympic Committee of Solomon Island Thursday last week, May 25 in Okinawa, Japan.

This means that Solomon Island Swimming Athletes will be able to develop themselves by training in Okinawa Prefecture.

The completion of a satisfactory training will certainly give the athletes the strength to perform their best during the 2020 Olympic Game in Tokyo, Japan.

Mr Kiloko said they have also discussed with Okinawa Prefecture on the notion of having 1 or 2 more NFs that will be also benefit from this program.

“Something that we need to discuss with NOCSI, MHA and as well identify suitable NFs to be part of the pre-camp training, and also to have them stay up to three years on pre-camp training until 2020 Olympic Games,” he said.

He said the proposal agreement for the pre-training camp for Solomon Island Swimming athletes to train at Okinawa was initiated by Sho Yonahara, a JICA Volunteer who is teaching physical education at Burns Creek Community high school.
