Lau Valley SDA Church baptizes 11
LAU Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church has increased its membership after baptizing eleven candidates following a one week evangelistic campaign.
From the one-week evangelistic campaign held at Jackson Ridge east Honiara, 11 candidates went through water of baptism at the Lau valley church on Saturday.
The candidates comprised of three young men followed by eight females who converted after a series of bible study run by Minister Gascoigne Jionisi—from Monday 30th to 4th February.
Church members of Lau Valley were excited over the new members included in its Sabbath school record and have shown their appreciation by shaking hands and hosting a welcome lunch for them.
Later in the evening during the Youth and Adult programme (AY), the church made an official welcome and handed over their baptismal certificate.
The Lau Valley Church Pastor in his official remarks welcomed the eleven candidates into the church saying they appreciated the candidate’s decision to follow Jesus Christ.
He said in many days ahead there will be challenges encountered, but the Pastor encouraged them to rejoice in the lord and they will be guided through.
In relation to church he said their challenge now is to nurture themselves and grow spiritually.
The Pastor urges every members’ inclusive participation particularly in the series of continuous Bible study.
Meanwhile, Minister Gascoigne Jionisi’s campaign was remarkablly successful and concluded with the message that touched many young people with a few making the decision for further Bible study.
Minister Gascoigne thanked the community for their patients and cooperation which resulted in the one-week campaign a successful one.
Jackson Ridge is a community populated by young people most of whom have engaged in anti-social issues.
