Japan assists Laloato Community High School
JAPAN signed a grant contract with the Laloato Community High School yesterday.
The signing took place yesterday at the Japanese embassy between Japanese Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Kenichi Timiya and Laloato Community High School principal, Mr Ishmael Tabeti.
The grant contract, received from Japan’s assistance under the Grassroots and Human Security Scheme which supports education through construction of school facilities, will aid the school in building the boys’ dormitory.
The ambassador stated that the project aims to provide a better learning environment for students and believes that this project will yearn positive impacts in the development of human resources in the country.
Mr Ishmael Tabeti was very grateful for the assistance and mentioned the many benefits the school will yield given the establishment of the boys’ dormitory.
Mr Tabeti said it will improve the enrolment of boys attending the school, reduce student’s absenteeism during bad weather, improve academic performances as students will now be able to consult their teachers more easily and overall, provide an excellent learning environment for students who used to reside in communities distant from the school’s location.
The signing of the grant contract was attended by the minister of education, Hon Lazarus Rima and the chairman of the school, Mr Celestine Aloatu.
