THE Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening has announced Wednesday 12^th July as the date for by-elections for Ward 5 (Wanderer bay).

The by-election will be conducted to find replacement for the vacated seat following the death of the Former ward member Hon. Fr Lionel Longarata January this year.

In a statement, the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening stressed that the following dates must be taken into consideration by voters and intending candidates for Wanderer Bay ward.

• The 35 days Election Countdown commence on this Wednesday 7^th June 2017.
• Hence Nomination also opens on this same day (Wednesday 7^th June 2017) and Closes by no later than 4pm Wednesday 14^th June 2017.
• Candidates who wish to withdraw their nomination must do so before 4pm on Wednesday 28^th June 2017.
• The Actual Election will be held on Wednesday 12^th July 2017.

The Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening would also like to clarify that they will not be accepting receipt of nomination forms or fees.

“Hence all intending candidates are here by advised to submit nomination forms, fees and Withdrawal forms to the Returning officer Mr. John Stewart (Deputy Provincial Secretary) at the Guadalcanal Provincial Headquarters office.

Thus, the Ministry of Provincial Government & Institutional Strengthening would like to wish the Guadalcanal Provincial government and the people of Wanderer bay Ward a fair and successful by-Election.
