THE Premier of Guadalcanal province is ready to deploy seven more seasonal workers to Canada next year after graduating 27 students recently.

GP Premier Anthony Veke highlighted Guadalcanal has achieved some of its development goals by graduating 27 students, which he says is a no-mistake for their human resource development.

Mr Veke said this achievement is an important bonus for them both in 2016 and 2017 and onwards to generate opportunity for its young people.

“GP is given opportunity to send a total of 350 graduates to work in tourism and hotel industry in the western Canada and this is something never happen in Solomon Islands and other provinces so this is why it’s so important,” Mr Veke said.

He said lots of students proposing for deployment to Canada next year will see the province receive attractive remittances, and it is a positive highlight for GP this year.

“Recently, you hear in the news Fijian PM is looking at concept of remittance and sending out delegations to other parts of the world.

“This is an opportunity national government must not sit back and see this in only for GP, it’s time to look at how this kind can bring back benefit to national economy and its people,” Mr Veke said.
