Retire and former police officers saved during the ethnic tension after their meeting at Children’s

THE taskforce assigned to look over the rehabilitation programme is being urged to explain the current status of the programme.

Mandated chairman of the Retired Police Officers pursuing the Rehabilitation Programme, Mr Henry B Kahui, made the call during their second meeting yesterday to pursue their promised rehabilitation payments.

He said the taskforce has been silent over the issue, and it is high-time that they let the nation know what the current affairs are.

“I think it’s enough for us and it’s time to be active and do something about the rehabilitation programme.

“We want to push for our promised and see if DCC Government still remains committed to their promised.

“Here we are coming and I want to urge the taskforce representing the government on the issue to work with us and not to ignore us.

“I just want to let everyone know that we won’t back down on the issue now, as we believed our voices can do things although we are continue to ignored,” he said.

Mr Kahui calls upon members of the rehabilitation taskforce to avail themselves and meet with them as they propose another meeting for Monday next week.

This paper witnessed that the number of participants in the meetings had increased from the last.

This paper understands that every stakeholder under the programme is forming a united body to pursue the issue.
