Prosecution’s application for admission of witness statement unsuccessful

THE Prosecution’s application to admit its witness’s statement due to the witnesses not being able to appear in court for trial was refused. This is the case against four brothers and their relative alleged to have involved in a logging dispute in December of 2012. NYC plans building volunteerism for youths

NATIONAL Youth Congress of Solomon Islands plans to introduce volunteerism programmes across the provinces. The Solomon Islands National Youth Congress as the umbrella Youth body in the country is planning to build volunteerism programmes to engage young people on its bilateral agreements signed with the European countries. Logging operations must be closely monitored

DEAR EDITOR, following the most recent security breach at a logging site in the Western Province earlier this month which led to the arrest of 70 or so people by the RSIPF there was yet another occurrence at Palepale Logging Camp at South Vella Island in the Western Province last Thursday.
