2 students win laptops from SME essay competition

TWO students yesterday walked away with a laptop each, thanks to the SME essay competition.

Javen J Lilivae, form 5 student from Mbokonavera Community High School, and Heizzy Baega, form 2 at Lungga Community High School, received brand a new laptop each yesterday.

They are winners of the essay competition under the SBEC and SICCI’S theme: “Inspiring Small Business growth through inclusive participation”.

According to Master of Ceremony, Mr Rodney Suibaea, the ceremony is a continuation of the open day held last week.

Manager for SBEC, Mr Ben Ngibabule, during the handover ceremony congratulated Lilivae and Heizzy for putting such an effort in writing their essays which ended with their memorable awards.

He acknowledges the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration for being the prizes major sponsor and support during SBEC and SICCI’s open-day last week.

Under Secretary Technical for MCILI, Mr Riley Mesepitu said Ministry is happy to support SBEC and SICCI particularly SBEC, as longtime partner.

With the awards, Mr Mesepitu congratulated the two winners saying the laptop is important for their schooling and encourages them to use the prize wisely.

“As a government’s Ministry we excited to give this present, and this will motivates others start realizing its potential for future participation,” Mr Mesepitu said.

Mr Mesepitu said the Ministry will continue to give support in future activities through its stakeholders with an aim to encourage more entrepreneurs in the country.

He said what they want many locals in small business, and see micro business sprout in order to make country’s economy come up stronger.
